Techonology supports academic development, according to the Wisconsin Assistive Technology Initiative of 2009.

Computers are often highly motivating and engaging for students with ASD. Learning on the computer doesn’t involve the ambiguities and distractions of other teaching methods in the classroom. Research has shown that using computers can increase attention and decrease anxiety-related behaviors in students with ASD. They provide a predictable, concrete learning environment that is often self-directed and self-paced.
