practice fine-motor-control clicking and dragging using web-based games
Objective:

Child will practice clicking and dragging items across the screen.

Rationale:

These activities enable the child to color, draw, match, identify, sort and write by clicking or dragging on the computer screen. In addition to “playing” with this software, this tool can be used to practice letter formation and writing.

Materials:

Web-based games such as Zac Browser puzzles or Zoodles (www.zoodles.com).

Basic Instructions:

Open Zac Browser on the desktop (find free download at www.zacbrowser.com) and click on the soccer ball. Select one of the many games or puzzles.

Things to Consider:

This should be child-directed. Allow the child to pick his/her own game to maintain the "playfulness.”

Progress:

May include increased fine-motor and visual-perception skills, willingness to use the computer, attention to task and motivation, and increased efforts to form letters and/or complete tasks.
